Why are mexicans stereotyped as the smallest people on TV?

Same reason yo can get away with racist comments in sit-coms like "I won't ride in that VW because its German-made" A very few narrow minded types control the entertainment business and don't see others as equal. And yet if anyone stereotyped back, there would be a squack.
