What is the best way to convince potential advertisers to advertise on our site?

I am preparing to launch advertising website enable the store to show all of its products. I am asking to know if I should go to the potential advertisers and explain to them the alleged advantages of our site or print brochures and dispense them or send them emails or something of this and that.
