Serious question about evolution and not an endorsement of creationism?

The environment for the shrimp has been pretty stable. It's the same reason why shark and starfish and mollusks haven't changed (much) in that same time period. Hey, bacteria have been around for more than ten times that period, and some of those haven't changed much either.
