What would cause a car to stall while driving? The battery light came on, yet the starter still turns over thx

IT doesn't seem to be the alternator or battery, but I could be wrong. The battery light only came on once the car died. This is a 94' Honda Prelude. I bought it from a good dealership from a family friend. It was in great condition. Stumped as to what this could be? Thanks
