My contacts make my eyes bloodshot and photosensitive. What's wrong?

I just recently got contacts. I wore the testers for about two weeks, and my eyes were fine. Then, when I got my real contacts, my eyes started becoming completely bloodshot after a couple days of wearing them (I take them out at night). The redness disappears after I wear my gles for a couple days, I thought that it was just those contacts, so I switched them out. The redness stayed. Now my eyes are starting to become photosensitive. Once again, it goes away after I wear my gles for a few days.
